Description

I first started this on August 19th 2014, and everyday since then I have drawn and coloured at least one Pokemon. I originally was drawing them quicker and less precise, however over time I decided that I wanted to be more precise. Then later on I figured out how to draw and colour in a better way, so that was good. I did not do shading on most Pokemon because I didn’t want to.

 

On average most Pokemon took over an hour, maybe even an hour and a half plus to do. Some took over two hours, while some like Ditto were rather short. Based on an hour a Pokemon, I would have spent 151 hours plus drawing this. I think it is more so closer to one and a half hours for each, so that would be 226.5 hours. Although I can be doing some other things while I draw, but not many other things, so that may take up a bit more time. Based on the shorter time for drawing Pokemon early on, and some Pokemon which take not too long to draw, I would say I have spent 200 plus hours on this.

The first Pokemon I did was Bulbasaur which is in the bottom left. I would often draw up, then go back down to the bottom and draw up again. I slightly made Bulbasaur look better than the art I submitted of it on August 19th, however I decided not to make it look far better, or to make other early drawn Pokemon look better, as I like to see the progress of this overall drawing. The last Pokemon I did was Mewtwo, which is in the top right.

I really like Pidgey in this because of its eyes. It is located around a quarter of the way along the bottom from the left. Its eyes remind me of Fry from Futurama and his “Not sure if” meme.

Nidoqueen (a bit to the left of top middle) took the longest to draw because of the shading I did. I believe it took me over two hours and 20 minutes.

Weezing (around 7/8th way from the left, a bit under half way up) took a while to draw.

Usually for art I draw I prefer to be able to finish it all in one session. After doing this, taking some days to complete something will not seem like much when comparing it to this.
